Scatter Symbol [Slots]
The scatter symbol is an icon that mostly features in 5 reel video slots. It is "wild" in its own way, because it doesn't have to line up on the normal paylines to activate. As opposed to the trend of making icons sequentially feature across a set payline to activate and grant you winnings (as is the case with traditional 3 reel slot), scatter symbols just need to appear ANYWHERE on a spin to unlock extra features!
These features include:
1.) The scatter symbol can act as a multiplier, which means it multiplies whatever coin prize you won on that spin. For example, the symbol might read 2x, which would double your winnings. These scatters often act exponentially, so two 2x scatters will be 4x. Of course, if the player doesn't win any money on that particular spin, the scatter multipliers don't do anything.
2.) he scatter symbol might also trigger a bonus game feature. Bonus games stand apart from the conventional reel game. The reel game is put on standby while the player plays the non-reel bonus game. Players can often win large numbers of bonus coins during that bonus feature. These bonus games often have better graphics and unique music and sounds.
3.) Probably the most popular use of the scatter symbol is the bonus coins scatter icon. This feature simply gives straight cash in addition to the money won by symbols on the paylines. -
